It’s not like this game features a brand new roster of characters. Smash Ultimate has every single character ever featured in a Smash Bros game. For the most part, returning players know who their favourites are. Characters like Mario and Samus haven’t changed that much since Melee.
Like the article says, this is mainly for the people who exclusively play Versus mode. For everyone else, this isn’t much of an issue.
In a competitive game like Smash, I think a faster way to unlock characters would’ve been appreciated by the people who try to take the game seriously. Being forced to play with characters you don’t want to play with isn’t fun for everyone.
This never made any sense to me. Half the time the dog tags are literally right next to people. Just walk into it. That's it.
The blend of music and gameplay really suits Tetris well! I wonder how the game is going to sell since it appears to be buried under a load of other AAA launches.
Not a 10/10? No buy for me. I literally only play masterpieces.
Anything to keep the side quests different from the main missions is ideal. Nothing worse than playing more of the same in side quests!
I cannot wait for this game. Anything that lets me play as a cyber ninja is great!
I don't understand how the Xbox One X version could possibly be on par with the PlayStation 4 Pro version of the game. Objectively speaking, there is so much more power available to the Xbox One X, you would expect the 1X version to look better or at least run better.
There is no way half of these games release in Q1. I'm fully expecting DMC5 as well as plenty of others to get pushed back to later in the year.
This game sounds hype AF.
Native 4K and 60fps seems overkill for a game like this. If it's too difficult to do, maybe they should include the option to choose between a performance mode (60fps) or native 4K.
This game seems like a such a waste of potential. There's a huge sandbox just waiting for the right developer to make an amazing game. Unfortunately, that developer is not Rare.
I'm glad the developers haven't given up on improving the game for returning players despite announcing a sequel not too long ago.
To be fair, Jens does have a point. I don't know how many companies would allow developers to go crazy and make games like Wolfenstein or Doom. I'm sure if Bethesda were all about the money they would've tried to make a Battle Royale game by now!
They did some different stuff, but not a lot of it was any good!
I expected this game to be shorter, to be honest. I'm so glad devs are making co-op games like this. I can't wait to play it.
I'm not even surprised to hear this anymore. Every third party game I've purchased in 2018 has been on the Xbox One X because it typically runs much better. Still, the checkerboard technique isn't bad by any means.
The developers had years to make the game they wanted to make. The limited budget probably had more of an effect than the amount of time they had.
If it lowers the FPS then IMO it's a useless feature. I can't imagine it will be drastic, but for me I wouldn't bother with it. Performance > Quality every single time.
I can see the comparisons to rhythm games but yeah, after watching the video in the link it's pretty clear where From had a bunch of their ideas for the combat.
