You know, I'd have to agree on RDR2. I never completed it for that reason alone, I got bored of playing it.
The colourful art style is charming, to say the least. They're being coy about any extra gameplay elements which should be interesting, have to wait and see on that aspect.
Luigi's Mansion has always been one of my favourite titles of the Mario universe and, naturally, Luigi is the pure pro. I am liking the look of this and love the return of Luigi's Mansion!
That could be great, so long as it's paced well and deals with the characters much like some of the films can, the conflict between them. I just don't want overly boring and long rubbish like that whole group therapy scene seen in the last Avengers.
Great value is subjective. If they release quality games, certainly true - but it all depends on the games being entertaining rather than just vectors for content. I will certainly agree on the upcoming console aspects, the power of them - though I'm PC first and foremost - and SSD's are a huge leap in reducing loading times.
Considering how much I've enjoyed the other Wolfenstein games by MachineGames, I'm all in for this. I have to admit, no matter what I read, I'll always be concerned about the co-op aspect.
I'm not sure if that's a good idea really. Sure, it offers extra funding to the studios in question but their autonomy is gone, they have overlords that will direct them.
As much as MS will say they're being hands-off now, soon enough, like every company, they will expect more and more, for less and less. It's not a deal I'd want to take having seen what has happened to so many developers in the past, including Lionhead under MS.
It looks like it could be interesting, certainly seems to have a decent amount of extra content gameplay wise than the mentioned MK8, as -Foxtrot says. I can't say I'm enthused about the 'live service' nonsense though, but I'm sick to the back teeth of live service games already.
The change of setting could be a great thing and the inclusion of a bigger variety of characters is interesting, though I wonder how it'll work with the story.
I loved what I saw of Man of Medan last year around Gamescom time, it looks like I'm going to enjoy it going by what's said here, despite any flaws it may have.
Naturally, though this seems to be part of the cycle. Not only are Sony going to face increased competition from MS, but Nintendo are in a very strong position. Plus the growth of PC gaming and cloud gaming.
Certainly seems like an easy enough game to jump into, better than the first one by the looks of it!
Plus it has the Danny Dyer voiceover.
A new Vampire: The Masquerade RPG is always welcome!
It wasn't a great game though, that's the problem. It was a trimmed back title, missing content, pushed out with the "missteps" of abhorrent anti-consumer monetisation and play-to-win loot boxes.
As for now, well I couldn't honestly say. Maybe the bounce back shows quality in the title, but I won't be playing it.
I wouldn't completely agree. There are games that can survive on a core loop, but I would say that the way to get recognised futher is with layers, deeper gameplay and a strong narrative.
I would hope so, but following quite a few stumbles it makes sense to say they're motivated. I'd be nice to see Blizzard put out some quality though, they genuinely used to be a great developer to watch out for.
The competition from Apex Legends, as well as natural competition from other titles will always cause a trough. Huge titles have always suffered from this. Is Fortnite going to suffer? Not a chance. Will it hit the same peak as before? Unlikely.
Anthem was a misstep throughout the whole development. Forcing a team to make a live service game for the sake of making a live service game. Ignoring an actual beta to milk more money by selling the beta. Or, in reality, just making people who paid less play the game later with the actual release date being the beta release date
It's a shame that the game hasn't hit the potential it could have. I can live with the wonky physics, to be honest, that was sometimes the joy of the old arcade racers or Destruction Derby style games. At least when the wonky physics stuck to their own wonky ruleset. Glitches, horrible rubber-banding and repetitive tracks - not something I want to live with.
Y'know, I thought Jurassic World Evolution was average to good, but if this is anything like Planet Coaster then I can only help but look forward to this
