It's Ubisoft, so I wouldn't be surprised. I hope they don't abandon it in a real sense. They'll release DLC, they'll have to, fulfilling the season pass requirements, but beyond that I just can't imagine the company putting a lot of money and effort into it. EA gets a bad rep, but they have a whole studio working on updates and fixes for such as Battlefield, which returns zero revenue. Ubisoft, well, they're Ubisoft.
It's going to be hard to judge a game like ME on graphics. The stark contrast of colours would look good on even lower resolutions than that, where it will show is particularly in areas that have NPC's and enemies. But, It's a Xbone we're talking about and it was always going to be a limitation for games as even a small amount of time went by
Decent figures. It's just so far behind the PS4.
The real news is the Steam release info. So much shovelware.
Interesting to hear it coming from somebody independent. I hope some great VR games come out, really do, wont hold my breath though!
Driveclub failed, but the team has potential. That's all the story is really.
Sony were getting shut so it makes sense for Codenasters to jump in.
A shoddy port that's at the forefront of Microsoft's new push into attempting total control of the PC market? Well colour me surprised, what next, a Ubisoft game that happens to be an open world and have some sort of objective to climb that reveals a section of the map?
Fair play to em. This sort of development us what Ubi need to work on more, rather than pushing for big open world with random content that never looks as good as early "gameplay footage"
Shallow because they've openly admitted that they decide on the large-action set pieces first, and worry about what holds them together after that.
Yes, but The Last of Us isn't Uncharted. Uncharted follows the story of Nathan Drake and unless this outing dramatically varies from the previous three (not including the non-Naughty Dog spinoffs) then it's still going to be a shallow game where the large-action set pieces are decided before the script. Something ND have openly admitted they do in the past.
And this is why Microsoft will never be able to control the PC market. UWP stops mods being made to fix the bad ports, so the bad ports are left lingering on the MS store.
Well, it looks pretty. But it will, it's Uncharted. Will it be yet another game that's just a bit too shallow though? more than likely. Uncharted, to me, is just a simple popcorn game. One you go into, turn your brain off and watch the shiny lights!
As Lava says, main actor is hardly the best source. Not gonna be impartial is he? :D
It's not a surprise. I'm expecting a poor port, but if we're lucky it'll be half decent at best.
It's Microsoft, they'll keep saying they want to push for PC but they'll constantly fail due to not understanding the market. This current push is still half arsed and UWP is terrible for games by making the good side of the PC like modding and such harder to do.
What a silly scenario where the release date of a game has an embargo now. Still, I don't know the veracity of it all, or even when the video went up, because the Square Enix store has the game's release date as that. So how much of a leak it is, not exactly big.
Depends on how well optimised it is and what features don't get used, but I have my doubts about the Xbone being able to effectively use DX12. Maybe when they make the Xbox One-Point-Five.
A few months every year gets packed with releases. May and November are frequent. Sometimes others. It's just follow the l
leader to meet fiscal targets.
It's all good saying that the world is to scale, and you can go into the expanse of the milky way, but while at the same time saying the game lends itself to 4-8 hours of gameplay means either there's a lot of empty space, or it's incredibly fast.
Either way, so long as the game is fun, excellent! I just think that it's not as big of a selling point as it makes itself out to be.
That couldn't be further from the truth. The PC market has done nothing but grow over the past ten years.
Of course there will always be sticking points, shoddy ports and hardware upgrading etc, but the market is stronger than ever.
As for the article, it's a iffy. All consoles are underpowered PCs, the Xbox will always have a place in the market due to console exclusives and brand loyalty.
It wouldn't surprise me if sony did indeed dump it due to lack of progress.
About time they were releasing it here in the west. I've been eyeing the game up for so long!
