Expanding on the universe, not Aloy (As great as she is) would make a great deal of sense. You get to explore further afield, see the world and how it's changed further. Imagine something like "Horizon: New Worlds" set in/around Manchester or London? How about "Horizon: New Dawn" set in/around Tokyo or Osaka.
The possibilities are limitless. Granted, they'll end up sticking to a US region methinks.
Well, we just need to see the surprises. Positive ones will be good, hopefully backwards compatibility?
It's good for any outlet that GameStop seem to have more leaks than the oldest buildings in the world. But as for Destiny 2, I'll keep an eye on it but personally I wasn't a huge fan of the first.
As I said, I hope they prove me wrong. But the simple fact is Ubisoft has had time to learn from games like Witcher 3 and actually see how a world can have content that means something to the story. Yet Ghost Recon: Wildlands was, guess what, a vapid slab of meaningless content with a load of busywork. Looked fantastic, played great, but was utterly pointless.
Possibly not to work on Witcher but actually work on a brand new IP more than anything else.
To be fair that's a reasonable thing. Actually aiming for a smooth framerate is essential, rather than going for stupid visuals that will make the game chug. Likely due to the Wii U release, as indicated, the Switch version should surely show a greater visual fidelity?
I can't say either way, not seen a comparison.
Would be nice if CD Projekt did something with him, to benefit him further, now that the series has been a runaway success. Possibly get him to pen for a future new IP?
I can agree there. I just think the Open World game, as it is now, has far more bad examples than good. So few Horizon's are coming out, yet there are loads of That Ubisoft Game style games where it's all about random filler than actual meaningful content.
Lovely to be confident in your own product but AC and every revent Ubisoft game has paled in comparison to such as Horizon. They're just large, but vapid slabs of meaningless content with a load of busywork. Good luck to them and I hope they prove me wrong, but I can't see the next AC being anything but the same.
I can't argue against anybody loving Horizon 3. Absolutely brilliant game. I can't particularly say I'm a huge fan of the regular Forza series though.
Not really new. Of course they are, but it depends on the open world. If it's bland, like Ubisoft games tend to be, then yes. However, if it's richly detailed with stacks of meaningful content, not bland filler, then not at all.
I can't praise Guerilla enough over Horizon. Aloy is a fantastic character, and actually more realistic than 99% of all other characters in gaming history. She has real motivations, makes realistic decisions and has a driving reason for heading out alone as she does. The world is also fantastically detailed with a rich lore and history.
This is the grounds that Nintendo needs to be catching up with Sony and MS. While Nintendo definetely have system sellers in their core 2 to 3 games per year, the system keepers come from third parties and indie devs. It's amazing they don't realise this, particularly due to the success they've had with handheld games by small teams.
Interesting to see Razer getting involved in making a controller just for fighting games. Would have thought it may be a little too niche, though it does support consoles and PC which opens it up enough.
It's surprising how far Styx has come, particularly considering he wasn't even the main character from Of Orcs and Men. Cyanide are certainly improving themselves but I don't consider it too odd them not having a pro patch, small studio and all that jazz.
There's no doubt that the hard work they've put into it has paid off. Near universal acclaim. It's something I've picked up, will get round to it properly in a few days once work calms down!
It's looking like a game to really look forward to. Tequila Works are a strong team and their calibre is far from questionable, so I'm more than looking forward to the game.
Third party support for the Switch is important. While Rebellion may not be the biggest name at the table, every little helps. Though no game has been announced by them yet, so be interesting to see if they release one if the Switch doesn't perform well at launch.
Of course Lara was going to be different. It's a different time now, characters are generally more 'gritty'. But it's a somewhat more balanced character, since the old Lara Croft was nothing short of a psychopath, willing to kill rampantly without any real drive towards it.
Hopefully it's as good as they're saying. Of course it's very PR to say how good and how far it's beating expectations, but we need to see something concrete.
