i haven’t got the slightest empathy for people who are always falling for the nostalgia trap. i say let them buy and see for themselves. the bad thing is that every unit sold signals a loud „more no efforts please, mooore“ to the producers :/
the first one wasn‘t exactly something brilliant despite that it was hyped beyond belief. that a sequel would only sell a friction of the first one was clear to everyone on the planet except those who wanted to press the idea of a sequel through.
this title is a master showcase of how powerful brands are. it is impressive how a really bad game will be bought by people just because it got skins from their favourite fantasy tucked on. a game they wouldn‘t touch otherwise.
uh, because of the more lucrative business model? but thanks, that this obvious fact was worth a blogpost.
made my day xD
while we‘re at it: i‘d like to remind nintendo to acknowledge industry standards. otherwise wallet firmly closed on all things N-house.
watched a ganeplay video yesterday. despite my first impulse to click on buy i held back. i am glad i did. something seemed off. i guess it was the relatively high pricetag compared to what was happening on screen (as in: same old, no fresh idea to be seen).
many are indeed bored because open world titles are pretty much floating dead in the water. what saves rdr 2 is blind brandloyalty and their eyecandy gfx. take a look at the new spiderman: same problem, looks fantastic but is most of the time dull and boring. signs of a dead genre and a dead industry.
judging by the numbers these kind of mobile games bring in it seemed like the best idea. from the point of view of corporate greed, that is *g*
hahaha ff7 remake is vaporware
got more than 100 dudes and dudesses in my list. none ever played this title you mentioned. but yeah, i guess it‘s very popular.
rdr2 and spiderman are not goty-material. rdr2 is an ancient game-engine in eyecandy-disguise and spiderman is most of the time just boring because it‘s just more of the same. still, monster hunter world from very early this year is untopped. maybe dragon quest 11 is a close second. the big open worlders are feeling very stale these days. someone come up with something fresh, please. rdr2 is in many ways the same huge disappointment that gta5 already was.
oh they know the gamers very well. the fanbase is just acting butthurt because they left them behind in the dust. advice to the diablo-hugging community: do what every woman does that gets dumped: get a new haircut and redefine yourself. try to find another game you can emotionally invest into. there are more than enough games out there.
they already went into a totally wrong direction with fallout 4 and now they completely lost it. happens to the best if they got a decision maker on board who is just indifferent enough *shrugs*
cut‘n‘paste effect. they did not build a new game (as it should be) but expanded the existing one (as it should not be)
i don‘t get the outrage. mobile is to gaming what the switch is for gaming. a subpar experience. so it‘s not the diablo community that is the target group with this title. as a gamer, no diablo game will get released. and no, they don‘t care when you start throwing tantrums now. gaming is a business, they go after the money. not your childhood dreams. there is much more money to be made with a casual mobile version. no one wanted a new diablo anyway minus a small community.
what do they win? dad‘s sports tv licensing console in the living room? i guess in the US they achieved their goal. the rest of the wolrd is still pushed off by mickey$oft leaving the gaming business behind.
they should have made this a switch exclusive. would have been more fitting than to pollute the real console business with this ugliness.
very, very cautious about this title. could be a total dud. the footage of the gameplay is not really convincing.
the social justice warrior league at it again. signs of the times.
