Beating Operation Flashpoint Dragon Rising on hardcore difficulty. It is nearly impossible to play with your horrendously stupid AI controlled fireteam and your other allies, like that downed helicopter pilot escort mission. All the other trophies for that game are easy.
You definitely nailed it. I mean, these same people complain about a new game not having an online competitive multiplayer, but then they just end up playing the same multiplayer game that they had already invested hours into.
