They mostly have singleplayer games without much replayability, one and done so it wouldn't be smart to take the gamepass route. MS have games with MP or replayability so you'll resub to continue playing

I loved the island part and it was only a short period of the story so I don’t see the complaint. The only part the became a drag was near the end with the native Americans like you said. They could’ve cut that part in half
