There was some great deals. I seen one with $50 game bundled and a $50 store gift card for $199. That's basically $100 off. If I had extra money to blow I probably would've gotten one even if I don't need multiple consoles. Simply too good of a deal.

Yes you're mistaken. I don't recall seeing anyone say that and I don't believe anyone including MS themselves expect the X to outsell the base PS4 especially at $199. MS said they don't expect the X to outsell the ogXbo, but let's pretend none of that was said or expected.
When it come to the X and pro there's no other reason to buy them other than power. They play the games as the base model duh! PS4 isn't sold out everywhere

I always wondered why the eu market is so different than the NA market. Is it marketing between consoles? I noticed it last gen. It was literally the opposite of NA. 360 outsold ps3 by 20 mill here while PS3 outsold 360 by 20 mill in EU. I know in some countries Ms doesn't even try in. They'll price the console $100 more expense, hold content back or delay, but dang ps destroys all there lol.

Why this only proves them right. Exclusives aren't the end all be all. Hell blade and Forza 7 proves this.
