I think having something out of the box and easy is great for consumers, but, from Xbox standpoint I could see them not making a console next gen because the cost of development will probably outweigh their sales meaning they will post a loss most likely
This is EXACTLY why they wouldn't and shouldn't bother im the first place. I can't remember which FF game launched on Xbox with the Switch and Playstation version and ONLY did 4% sales on Xbox. Nah these numbers are terrible as this includes Gold being converted to Gamepass Core. Xbox has missed targets 3 years straight and no growth at all even with these massive purchases. It's honestly sad Xbox fans get fooled so damn easily.

Also a large portion of these sales are to completely new customers. Add in that it's very profitable as shown by these sales. So that's 3 solid reasons to do what they did.

Its a remaster so they probably think it's a safe bet to take Xbox gamepass money so it's easy to break even then release to PS5 and Switch 2 before the fall holidays.

There's a interview Tim Cook the CEO was talking about the type of workers they need he wasn't convinced he could fill a SINGLE room. Whereas in China he could fill the vacancies with MULTIPLE football fields.
