Damn good article. Funny. And I actually started replaying this a few months ago after downloading it on the PSN. I fricking love this game and need it for my Vita now.
LISTEN!
completely agree. I had a preorder set until I realized that they didn't implement that. It's basically an HD version of Spider-Man 2, first of all, but they couldn't bring back the best part of it.
Also, even Ultimate Spider-Man had that, if I remember, just dumbed down.
And arugably, the PS One Spider-Man games were pretty good for what that generation of tech offered. Hell, the NES and Sega games were pretty good too.
It's ...
They're similar, but seriously? Not worth an article.
Maybe you should do the "top 5/10 box art plagiarisms" or something.
Then again, easy way to attract attention and get hits.
Definitely agree. Most of the Japanese developers have resorted to licensing their major franchises to Western developers to see what they could do with it. Europe has been doing exceptionally well in creative, beautiful games.
I really dislike this article. We need less of this "this is better than that" type of stuff that just incite flame wars.
Not too happy about it running on a modified SF X Tekken engine. Hopefully the style will be as unique as the original games.
And seriously, Capcom, fans have been asking for this for ages. Of all the things you've put your money into publishing, Darkstalkers is the least problemsome of them all.
I don't know how to feel about this yet. I still find it odd it's coming out for the 3DS and the PS3, instead of the ps3 and 360 or 3ds and Vita, and I'm wondering what the scope of this project is. I'm glad to see the Mechs still in there and Akrid battles. How long til it's release?
Are the Forbes guys just getting into the gaming world? The other day i read a supposed PS3 article that turned out to be a Dark Souls fan service article. Now this. I love the PS3, but this is a "PS3 VS XBOX360" flame war that the net doesn't need. I read the article, and he says his dad isn't even a gamer. Why give him this $250-300 ultimate gaming device if he's only going to go on one app for it? Unless it's for when the author of the article comes over and wants...
While I don't find the subject of 38 Studios' employees being laid off (I've faced it myself) this was pretty good. Brought some levity to an otherwise dark situation. I approved it.
Misspelled "valve" in title. Please fix.
Dude, no offense, but forcing players to go specific things to unlock DLC would make them just stop buying DLC, flat out. For a game like Mass Efeect, scuse me, for a franchise like Mass Effect (and Dragon Age for that matter) which is all about free choice and playing it your way and making your own choices, it would undercut that whole philosophy by encouraging players to look up FAQs/game guides just to play an ENTIRE game over just to get 2 hrs worth of DLC.
I would hope ...
Agreed. Anything that can actually make the game have a story (that's equally engaging and understandable) is good by me. I wouldn't mind if they drastically changed the mythos (or lack thereof) and use a reboot to change everything about the gameplay and style. Maybe even give the characters more range with their abilities or something. It franchise seriously lost it's edge very quickly in the last generation.
Great article. Loved it. And good points brought up. I think gaming won't disappear in general, which I don't think you were insinuating--but I do see where people are gravitating less to console gaming devices and gravitating more towards games on tablet and smart phone devices.
And I've seen many studios taking that route: for instance, Phosphor Studios Games was developing a game called Hero (and later, Awakened) that was scrapped when Midway went out, with th...
Great list man. Really agree with everything on here. I'm wondering if any games this year will become worthy additions to that list and I wonder--with all the rumblings of next gen consoles being announced this year--how much these games will affect the next gen games that would be released at launch.
Sorry! We've been getting that confusion a lot. We just thought it was one of those age-old gamer things... Probably one of the longest-lasting game cheats/unlockables ever used. Hopefully you can enjoy our site though!
I'm biased because I prefer co-op and multiplayer options in general, but I've come to enjoy the single mode more than ever before. I do hope that Saints Row 4 has a far bigger city and more options for crazier co-op play. We'll see...
Jesus, this sounds like a nightmare. I can't believe this happened. When the Playstation Network was attacked all my X Box friends boasted how great Microsoft was at hacking attempts and at service. Clearly, some of the were wrong.
And your detective work was commendable! You need to be working for Microsoft's recovery team!
No problem! I look forward to your future stuff!
As a black guy, I think it's poignant. There's been a lot of talk about gender roles in games: many of the most popular female characters in games are over sexualized.
Race in games isn't as talked about, but there isn't a bevy of prominent protagonists of color in gaming. We recently got Emmett Graves, and his story did nothing to make him endearing to most fans. Beyond that, we serve mainly as supporting characters who play up black stereotypes, like loud, ghet...
