Big boss was in a coma as well. Listen to the truth tape where zero visits him in hospital.
Where were the bosses? A staple of any numbered metal gear game. The series is famous for them and they were non-existent.
This.
Yeah, the cassette tapes are so boring. Codec scenes were given the boot just so miller or ocelot could talk to snake about nothing of any interest just for snake to say absolutely nothing at all. The charm and charisma of the characters along with the back and forth between snake and his support from previous games used to keep me engaged and help with understanding the plot/characters better.
Sounds like you either didn't play the old games or were terrible at them.
Gunplay was never a primary focus in the game as the emphasis was on stealth. There were enough guns in the old games; there didn't need to be 10 different assault rifles with identical stats with pointless customization. Just sounds like you wanted an open world call of duty.
I agree with those above me who say it becomes very repetitive. 2 very bland, uninspired environments: desert and African savannah. The same guard posts every few minutes between the few and far between enemy outposts. Completing the same objective (fulton, extract, blow up) over and over again hoping, praying for some of the old mgs magic/plot reveals to bring some life into it which never comes. I was bored 40 hours in and I absolutely love the series.
We sure do; MGSV was £60 on the ps store.
Can reicast do that now?? How well does it run?
I was certain Hope's Peak Academy from Danganronpa would be on here.
After reading the comments here I have realised that "competitive smash" is serious business.
He does claim to have achieved the true ending, apparently.
Would love to see a dlc pack containing styles for Super Mario all stars and super Mario world 2.
I wouldn't say died, but it definitely peaked with 3.
Me too. I remember about a week or two before the launch of MGS4 it was leaked that big boss made an appearance, there was even a picture of him! Luckily, I forgot all about it by the time the end credits rolled. The way the did his entrance gave me shivers, hoping for something similar in V.
I really liked MGS4 but I can understand why you only played such a short amount of it considering you'd never played an MGS before. MGS4 is extremely plot heavy and pretty much requires you to have played ALL the others to understand it.
Quickly grab the MGS HD remaster for PS3 and echoing Scark92, at least play 3 and Peace Walker before MGS V comes out.
The very last Metal Gear trailer from Kojima. Really makes it feel like the end of an era. I've been watching these trailers for as long as I remember. From mgs 1 all the way through to now. Every one of them pulled me into this world and fueled my passion for this series. Every E3, TGS, gamescom, etc I would look forward to just for the new trailer. This is so sad, especially how it's all ended with konami
Wotta bunch of jokers.
That online mode looks like a ton of fun, can't wait.
MGS4 poorly written? No.
Peace Walker on the other hand had some of the most cringe inducing dialogue and scenes of the whole series. The focus on Paz and peace. Anything to do with the Sandinistas. The magical, flying, singing, self-drowning machines. It remains my least favourite Metal Gear to this day. Although I loved the mother Base aspect of the game.
Nah, replay mission 30 with stealth camo for every resource in a red container.
Edit: still takes forever to process it all though :'(
