The problem I have with the 360 D-pad is they put it on top of a disc so it doesn't feel stable when pressed. If MS changes the D-pad to a straight up solid cross design (like the SNES) and put it on top of a rubber pad then the problem is solved.
I believe the Sega Saturn had the best D-Pad ever made.

No, it looks bigger. The top island alone was pretty much the entire map of the Arkham City game. It doesn't matter how big the map is because there can be less places to go in a bigger map.
