Considering the PS3 is selling more yearly (on average) then the 360 and reached 20 million much quicker than the 360 did, i'd say it's doing quite well.
Fanboys also seem to think NPD = World.

Microsofts rushed console has lead to one of the worst hardware blunders in electronics history and they still can't even "win" the battle.
Based on the rate of the PS3 outselling the 360 by ~20,000 each week it will be ahead of it by 1 million at the end of each year.
That's massive in terms of hardware.
Before the 360 fanboys get their diapers' in a knot, it is just a theory.
20,000 = 1 week
200,000 = 10 weeks
1,000,000 = 50 weeks
