The article isn't based on the storyline of Street Fighter since hardly any of the fans even care to follow it since it's very loose in terms of their storytelling.
It's based on giving into the demands of fans who want a superb game no matter what it costs. So if they were to include a fighter that would have to be retconned, it wouldn't be the first time.

actually Mass Effect 2 won't make 09 due to that Dragon Age Origins is coming out and Bioware won't want to compete with themselves. The only possibly way is that if Dragon Age releases in early Fall and ME2 releases in late winter. Still, highly doubtful that Bioware will release two games in one year in the same genre on the same console.
As for Splinter Cell: Conviction, that probably won't make 2009 either due to the development problems.
LMAO. The point in the logical list is that people wouldn't be surprised if these games showed up at E3. Now Dark Cloud 3, that would surprise the hell out of people. Perfect Dark 2 on the other hand, makes sense and wouldn't surprise anyone since Rare is working on two games that are supposed to release in 2009 and early 2010.
