Your comment confused me.
Is it Gamepass's job to hurt retail sales?
Remember "State of Decay 2 surpassed 1 Million players in 2 days"?
Then "State of Decay 2 surpassed 2 Million players" in 11 days?
This goes to show how inflated the 'player count' numbers are if in 7 days it sold at an estimated 177.4k at retail.
Yeah, If we expected sales to be approximately 100k without it...
So in essence, a GaaS model. got it.
I wouldn't even call SoD2 'popular'. It's still a niche genre.
PS3 was only the ‘laughing stock’ for a couple years after release. It came back to be quite the competent system outselling the 360 in the end.
“Catering to” is such a poor phrase. Should be "We need to represent”.
I think Uncharted is the better series.
I've watched a Over 100 video game list for the Vita and about 90% of them are JRPGs. It's a shame none of them are like Final Fantasy/Chrono Trigger or Vagrant Story.
I wouldn't mind a BR where people just stand in one spot. If you move, you're OUT! Last one standing wins. ;)
Remedy said Control might be their first game to test the Gaas model.
It might be a Gaas game. Gonna be cautious on this one.
@Skull
"I disagree with this, many PlayStation exclusives I've played feature long drawn out cut-scenes and quick time events. Some of them hardly even seem like games (Until Dawn, etc.)"
It's funny how you forget to leave out "Sony has continuously delivered “walk and talk” games that offer emotional and rich stories" from your quote.
The piece isn't saying every game does it, but that it is delivered c...
We'll be seeing Elder Scrolls 6 on every platform. It's the $$$.
In essence, what this article is saying is Sony is different because they promote single-player games with endings in the story (to literally end the game), while Microsoft, EA, Activision, ect.. are using Gaas games with a 'make your own story' attitude to artificially extend the playability of games at the expense of a story with an ending. This different approach to story-telling is why PlayStation is King.
I do think Sony's first party studio's approach...
Oh look. Another VGculture opinion piece trying to stir the pot.
Don't give them the clicks.
I went through the store. These are the games I would possibly play.
Final Fantasy 3
Legend of Dragóon
Final Fantasy Origins
Final Fantasy 6
Final Fantasy 4
Final Fantasy 9
Final Fantasy 8
Final fantasy 7
Metal Gear solid Portable Ops
Socom tactical strike
Vagrant Story
Final Fantasy 5
Chrono Cross
Chrono trigger
Final Fantasy Tactics lion ...
I'm contemplating buying the 2000 model. My hesitation is the lack of AAA games for it. I don't want it to be solely for PS1 games.
I doubt the majority of PC users are playing the ‘best’ version of any game.
BiggerBoss..
If you're trying to be sarcastic, use the /s.
If you're not trying to be sarcastic, then I would somewhat agree. Although the 'player count' PR is still over-inflated.
