Of course I agree with you that Sony's PS5 on launch day is a no brainer for any gamer with 2 brain cells, but I disagree that enough core gamers are that smart.

MS on the other hand... I consider it a very foolish act to buy ms's next console anytime within the first 5 years. But for others here ms releases a shiny trailer and all of a sudden their past inept behaviour vanishes. Maddening.

I think you're getting a little confused. It's MS that relies on 3rd parties to bolster their library. It's MS that for their entire history in the game industry have dropped the ball of exclusive support and thrown money around to block 3rd party content coming to other consoles.
Sony has always relied on their top quality exclusives to define its self.

Good to see MS actually supporting the xbone instead of saving all those game for their next gen console, like they did at the start of this gen.
They need to continue to support the series x for 5 years and I then can safely buy one knowing it's unlikely they'll drop support for their console halfway through the generation, like they've done with EVERY single one of their consoles.

The games support has been getting a little better, but it still basically doesn't recieve any AAA that are just a little bit complex, but I agree with everything else.

The switch is built around the innate weaknesses of having portability, ergo, it's a portable gaming device that can connect to a tv.

I guess you mustn't play your switch that much, because it's already severely under powered compared to current gen hardware, and when next gen arrives it's going to be blown out of the water. If developers want to see their visions come to life, expand the complexity and scope of their games and actually move the industry forward creatively, they will absolutely not be releasing a switch version, even a severely downgraded one.
