Very true, and at the end of the day their loyal customer base suffers from this decision with games lacking in scope and complexity.
Not to mention what happens to the quality of games when ms do go all in on subscriptions.

But they weren't counting on their support being THAT pathetic that even the shill games media was making fun of them.
So they had to react and get the check book out and throw their money around, like they always do, to try to fix the problem, but it's going to be years before we see any decent new games from these new studios.

Of course the first round of games don't squeeze every ouch of power from the consoles, but there's a huge gulf between not quite fully taking advantage of the console and being hamstrung by 8 year old weak hardware.
The scope and complexity of gameplay for xbox games is going to be severely crippled. How many times does this need to be explained before you understand?
I think MS will once again trick their blind fans again by releasing a lot of exclusives at the start of the generation.
But of course, after that, support will once again dry up.
