Nintendo is not concerned because they are the ones that set trends in the gaming industry. Graphics is just a small part of the puzzle when it comes to gaming experiences and Nintendo knows this. Could they make a power house console, of course they can. But will it be cost effective to their business strategy and to their consumers, no.

Ummm, you obviously have not been paying attention to what Nintendo has been saying when it comes to digital distribution. Wii-U will have games that can be downloaded on day one. As for third party games, its up to them if they want it to be able to be downloadable and/or at retail. It all starts with New Super Mario bros 2 for 3DS in August. As for exclusive downloadable games.....its very likely as they have them on 3DS already (Pushmo, Dillions Rolling Adventure, etc)
Looks psychotic lol...good addition for Wii-U......it may not be exclusive in the sense that its also playable on PC & Mac.....but its still console exclusive and that enough !
I'm in the same boat....both are pretty useless to me...but it was the first time I reached Platinum. After seeing things from previous years I would have wanted like the Mario hat, the Statue with the Mario characters, the Doc Louis Punch Out game etc....I was deterimined to get it this year. And now I get a pack of cards or poster :/ those are normal items they give out all year.
How am I wrong??????? This is not a right or wrong situation. Fans want female characters to play....add them to the multiplayer stages. Very simple to include considering the games comes out NEXT YEAR. Why people are disagreeing with me is rediculous.....I personally could care less. Its not like I'm requesting them. It is not hard to add a few character models to a game.
I don't see what the big deal would be to add a few females characters to choose from !! If it makes certain fans happy, just add a few in.
So Nintendo went from being for kids, to being for grandparents, to being for casuals and now its for girls......... so Nintendo is for everyone except the "core" players? I think its time to let the negative Nintendo comments rest. Nintendo makes games for everyone period !!! And that's the way it should be. If your a "core" gamer and can't accept that a company should never focus on just one group of players.....your into the wrong hobby !
Then your comment is completely useless talking about two awesome games you will never play. If you won't buy the current Wii to play them and aren't planning on the Wii-U either then who cares. It was irrelevant to bring up. If you want to play them you do one or the other....not complain about it !
Buy the games now and have them ready for when you get a Wii-U and play them on that....what's the big deal?
Personally, I think the XL looks ugly...and I am content with my original 3DS and its appearance. But for those who would prefer bigger screens, this is for you. I don't see it as something that I need to further enhance gameplay, but for others, they may want to see the game bigger. The resolution is the same, so there is no visual difference. This is more of "to each their own" and will only help Nintendo dominate even more with the handheld sales now that consumers have optio...
Its not doubtful that it will be more powerful than 6-7 year old hardware. I am not saying its going to be light years ahead, but if you honestly believe that they aren't using a better graphics card, and more ram and other newer pieces of tech, then you are just in denial. And do you realize that your saying that games like Batman and Assassins which are taking full advantage of current gen systems to their max, are just the starting point for Wii-U ?? That doesn't help your argument...
People that complain about power fail to realize that when Wii-U drops, it will be the most powerful console out. Even if its just slightly more powerful than current gen (PS3/360) it still will be able to outperform them. Games that are being ported already show this when compared (Batman/Assassins Creed) and even though it may not be by much, its still doing it. And these are ports on new hardware. There is no way Nintendo is going to miss the Black Friday week of sales in November, just to release it 2 or 3 weeks later in Dec. They know danm well that in USA, that's the busiest shopping time and everyone will be dying to get their family memebers one of these during that time when it becomes the new "it" thing to own for the holiday.

These games can help shape their core audience for the sytem early on in the Wii-U's lifespan. So I do agree with the article that it could help change Nintendo's fortunes if they lead to more and more core games.
