I think it depends a lot on player types and expectations. Even for an alpha, the game is severely lacking in content. There is nothing to do outside of collecting loot. PvP isn't really PvP and 90% of the time you're killed by someone you're not even aware of.
Potential, without doubt, but the ability to reach that potential I'm not so sure of.
I have very little interest in the WWE games but I've watched every video you guys have made on it. May actually rent this one :D

Video-games make life harder. I had 3 hours to clean the house until I booted up GTA. Now I've got 20 minutes before the other half gets in and my life won't be worth living :D

Resident Evil 6 sold well but we all know how that went. I know 20-30 people that paid for Diablo III. None of them play it.
That story is across the board. Of course it's still popular, but a LOT of people considered it a disappointment.

They aim for a totally different demographic to video-games. I don't know anyone under 40 that reads a newspaper and most of them think video-games are the work of Satan. So makes sense to pin the blame on a computer game :D
