They haven't confirmed this. They have said that PlanetSide 2 will be free, without the need for PS+. However, they have also said other titles will require PS+, including FFXIV. Check the article, it's in there :D

Why would they make it a premium title on console and free on PC? It makes no sense. However, it makes sense for them to make a pay-to-play MMO a premium feature on console. Basic logistics.

For those not in the UK. The Sun newspaper is renowned for being full of drivel and shit. Don't give this any serious credit :D

Yeah...Announced minutes after I wrote this >.< lol Exciting news though! About time consoles stepped into the MMO generation.

Well aware that SOE publish PlanetSide 2 but it's not abnormal for MMO games to be available from multiple portal and publisher platforms.

Sure it's unlikely they'll offer their leading MMOFPS game to their biggest console opponents, but in terms of any MMO game with micro-transactions, more players = more money :D

It's a gray area as we haven't really seen any major MMO launch on console in previous years.

But in the same light, a Daedric Artifact is much stronger than crafted items, in some respects anyway. The unique effects and such can't be found elsewhere. Interesting to see how Bethesda will approach it.

Blockbuster? Lol Get a report from a retail outlet that isn't about to vanish off the face of the Earth and I'll pay some attention.

There is no "could be" screwed about it. They are getting screwed:

Microsoft's stand point not so unclear any more. They're going to ramp up the prices for pre-owned games to only allow 10% off :s

I'm amazed that this was even considered, let alone put through. I don't consider myself a big Xbox fan but I cannot help but feel sympathy for those that pledge their allegiance to Microsoft. What a quick way of screwing your most loyal customers.

I'd love to think of something more artistic to say about the rear viewing images but you sir, nailed it.

Well said. Great comment from a neutral perspective. I also agree that both companies missed huge opportunities for bigger MMO coverage, hoping they don't make the same mistake again :D

The fact they added that as a selling point is a joke. This feature was included in PS1 games.

OH NO WAIT! These fish don't just swim away from the player, but it's DYNAMIC!!

The ex-CEO of Gazillion and Cryptic Studios joined as the head of Lionhead but when it comes to experience, Sony beats MS handsdown in MMO titles.

I was quite impressed when they listed all the additional TV features and such but that fell short when they cut the reveal without any serious gaming info. However, I don't think they have the MMO experience to create any truly defining online titles.
