NDS version is best. Worst version is the PS1 port. For whatever reason, all of the Squaresoft SNES ports are absolutely terrible.

All valid points. But you should know by now that criticizing Sony is heresy on N4G.

Anyway, avatars do appear in the PS4's UI. At the very least they pop up in the friends list and when you use the controller to switch users.

I think so. Didn't they announce they were shutting down some of the Vita services like Near? So we should at least get a patch that lets us delete those from our systems.

It's 2015. The Playstation 4 is a nearly a year-and-a-half old by now. And yet the OS is still lacking really basic, fundamental features. Like being able to sort content, or group content into folders, or remove demos/free content from the library.

Instead we get another tiny, incremental update that adds more small, superfluous changes and the fanboys have nothing but masturbatory praise.

The people disagreeing with you are the cancer killing gaming.
Way to actively fight against your own best interests, fanboys!

Pre-production is part of development, and it was likely in preproduction before Skyward Sword launched.

True. And I'm not about to judge the game until I play it. But in general I don't like the idea of removing options--I would rather the game accommodate sword-and-shield playstyles, and simply make them less optimal.

"It's a matter of personal opinion."

I disagree. No matter how much you enjoy FFXII, you can't ignore the fact that it was (very obviously) unfinished.

Well, except for Kuja's thong.

So many morons... everywhere the eye can see. (And no, I didn't watch the video).

It's the publishers who decide the sales, not the distributors. So when a publisher puts a game on sale, it's on sale (or should be) through EVERY retailer.

This is why you can walk into a Gamestop, for example, and see a new copy of a game selling for less than a used copy--because the Publisher sets the price for the former, and the retailer for the latter.

The hell? The Vita integration was literally the ONLY selling point PSTV had.

3978d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

I dunno. It doesn't take too much imagination to see Sony abandoning a new product or service.

3978d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

...Except that Nintendo has explicitly stated that that's exactly what they intend to do.

The idea is to use mobile games to advertise their console games.

3978d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

Well, not yet at least.

I imagine they'll start with simple runners and puzzle games. Like that Pokemon-themed Candy Crush they just put out on 3DS.

There's no such thing as a "standard cycle," for Nintendo or anyone else (in the game industry--if you want to talk about iPhones, that's a different conversation).

Just to look at Nintendo's platforms since the Nintendo Entertainment System....

NES: 1983 to 1990: NES lifespan was 8 years.
SNES: 1990 to 1996: SNES lifespan was 7 years.
N64: 1996 to 2001: N64 lifespan was 6 years.
GCN: 2001 to 2006: GCN lifespan wa...

That's not true at all. BoZ was a battle game, and was therefore built on ranged combat... which is why it wasn't such a great DB game.

There's a sentence up at the beginning of the article that says something to the effect of, "if Nintendo shows up NX as their next platform at this year's E3, then...."

And everything after that (the bulk of the article) is all predicated on that baseless assumption.

So, yeah, if Nintendo unveils their next platform in 3 months then the WiiU may very well be off to an early grave. But that's one hell of a big if.

"standard 5 year console cycle?" When games take 3 years to develop on average, a 5 year console cycle isn't "standard" -- not even close.

"Nintendo isn't stupid."

I'm sorry: what?
Are you just not paying attention?
