It's the perfect franchise to pull off that type of thing, I remember laughing my ass of at the beginning of Nuts and Bolts when they were fat for not being in a game in years.

They're are right, in the future everything will be connected always online, it is inevitable but unfortunately for MS it is too soon, we're not ready to make the push just yet.

Pull the fan boy stick out of your ass, the only thing that will separate consoles will mostly be first party games. The only platform that wont have its full advantage used is the PC as it is ever evolving to more powerful hardware while consoles stay the same until a new generation.

Unfortunately FIFA, if you live in England like me you'd notice 95% of teenage boys have a hard on for FIFA games; football will always sell in England.
If Microsoft play it right they could have a absolutely huge presence at gamescom if they announce the right games.
Heck even if they put in something like a Banjo Kazooie or Conker teaser trailer, even if it isn't even in development, they would probably win back some of the old-timers.
Also for the love of god 343i don't show anything of the new Halo game yet, too early. I wouldn't mind a lovely teaser trailer though like the epic one from E3. ...
