The 3-year warranty shouldn't be up for anyone yet. Nov. 22, 2008 is when peoples warranty will start running out. Still another month. Also anyone who has gotten the RROD will also have had their 3-year warranty reset to when they got their refurbished console. Three years is long enough to see if it is going to fail.
And PS3 owners would be praising it if it were made by sony.
