Not sure where you live but cars are sold 2nd hand pretty quickly weather private or at a dealership.
You talk about the follow on services games has such as patches dlc so on, as do cars, they are serviced maintained, and recalled if there is a major patch.

Vita is aimed at western countries not japan, vita will sell in japan once jrpg and japan type games come out.
The whole launch line up is pretty much aimed at us westerners.
So people freaking over bad sales in Japan really should look into it a little more in depth
