I love HD collections. It gives me a chance to play amazing games that I missed up on growing up.
I never got to play the MGS series, I never got to play the Sly-Cooper series, I never got to play Shadow of a Colossus + Ico, I never got to play ALOT of games that I wanted to. Why? Because I was young and neither me or my parents could afford such things, so now that I'm older and can afford (and easily find these collections), I think its awesome.

When I pre-order games its never to get a special item (although sometimes they are nice), but its to support the developer. I really don't play games much anymore, heck the last game I bought (and pre-purchased) was Guild Wars 2.
I buy games at full retail price to support developers.
