I have already made it through a few levels of Prestige Mode on the PS3 version, and now I will pick up the GOTY edition for the 360 and start pwning people on there:P Now I can also get some achievements, since IW doesn't feel the need to support their community very well. We should get the same support that Halo 3 gets from Bungie, and we should have more maps by now.
laugh and joke about R2 being AAA, but I don't see any reason it couldn't be. R1 with all of its faults was still an amazing launch title that earned an 86 metacritic rating. It had 33 scores of 90+, including GameInformer, Play, and IGN, and it had 3 perfect scores including G4 which is generally known as biased towards the 360.

With the exception of a few rare hits, almost every new game that comes out is over hyped and under delivered, because the more catchy commercials (see: Mercs 2 "Oh no you didn't"), the more kids/casual gamers are going to want that new title. but the battle of the bands is awesome!! Honestly, it will definitely be worth the wait if you loved the first game. I feel like Rock Band 2 is simply an upgrade to Rock Band 1 which has really spelled nothing but greatness to me. The battle of the bands is really fun, though, because a group of you and your friends can talk trash about a whole other group while whooping their @sses:P It's definitely MY ultimate party game right now:)
