Looking forward to this
I think the fact that it has Lord of the Rings in the title is sure to prevent it from being 'swept under the rug'. Don't know how it will compete technically against Skyrim though
Also, the mature rating is a huge plus.
What can I say, I like blood and guts.
Please let there be ridable oliphants!
No offense to the writer in any way, but I am not going to read this...
The very notion that there should even be debate whether games are Art is ridiculous.
Just ask the scores of artists, writers, composers, designers, etc employed to make the game and then compare their numbers to the numbers of their peers involved in making a movie, writing a book, farting paint on a canvas...
That was an awesome article.
He is absolutely correct. Apart from the graphics, God of War 3 wasn't the epic journey I wanted it to be.
They could have done so much more to make the game epic - at least one other Titan fight for a start, a better labyrinth, if you could even call that a labyrinth, better puzzles
The ending was satisfactory...
Batman was great as well, but at the end I said to myself 'That can't be it??? Ok, Joker i...
@rockleex
Nice comment... I agree
However, I'd have to say PS3 and 360 tied for top spot. 360 brought online console gaming to the mass markets, it really is today what it is because of Live. Also, it ensured that neither of the 2 companies could rest on their laurels just expecting money to come pouring in. The competition this gen has been hectic from the start, and both companies are keen to upstage the other when it comes to releasing quality titles o...
Can't wait...PS3 is looking sweet this year, except of course for..um...you know what
Still have to get a hold of Resistance 2. There are a lot of platinum versions around but I'm looking for a original. Platinums are an eyesore
Won't touch 3 till I'm done with 2
Yes it does look better, but will it BE better?
All this talk and focus on Multiplayer is a bit worrying from a single player perspective.
The second game seemed to focus on making the single player more grandiose, and it worked as we all know. MP was sort of added in as a bonus - and there was certainly nothing wrong with it
What has me worried is that this time all the talk seems to centre around MP - and while it looks promising, will it b...
Must....get....money...too...m any....games
Not forgetting UGC :)
Players themselves could design levels specifically for four players. Not sure whether its possible at the moment, but they could allow users to drop in some of those massive monsters/titans. Maybe put 2 of them in at a time and let 4 players have a crack at taking them down along with the other minions.
Yup, it would be epic. Maybe in Infamous 3?
It would be awesome - they already have three characters to play as.
And those creatures are certainly big enough to let two players take them on comfortably.
I don't know how they would do split-screen though, which so much going on visually, but online co-op, definitely.
Holy Sh*tballs!
I've managed to stay away from any screenshot links, video link, dev diaries, and have gotten by with just the bare minimum. And even that convinced me that I'm getting this day 1.
But after watching that, Holy Sh*tballs!
Can this game topple other game of the year contenders?
The difference between this and Infamous 1 is like the difference between drake's fortune and among Thieves, as well as AC1...
I hope they make the truth puzzles as cleverly as the last two games, but more of 'revelation' when you complete them
AC 2's video clip was cool, but I wasn't so thrilled with Brotherhood's reveal
And make them more challenging... Maybe incorporate the tomb levels with a bit of glyph puzzling.
And I hope they bring back the VR Training room. Was a very cool idea.
That would make sense except for the fact that the world ends next year ;)
I wouldn't call them spin offs really..
They're more like episodes. Kind of like what Valve did with Half Life 2, eh?
Spinoffs generally feature a 'minor' character from the main franchise, and introduce a new, or at least branching storyline. Not quite the case here either.
@Croash...
Well put. That's the whole point. There seems to be this misconception that these are spin-offs which makes no sense, seeing as they are expanding the story, chronologically...
What kind of a spin-off starts its story sequence directly after the game before (As is seen in ACII and Brotherhood)
@Stealthdawg... You're right about Ubisoft saying that this was gona be a 3 game deal... But maybe they'd just had an influx of inspirati...
Brotherhood is around the same length as II. Everyone just assumed that it wouldn't be a full release when it was announced that it would be coming out a year later.
But it is... It's a full game, longer than most other action adventure titles out there, if not all, by a long way. There is so much scope besides just the epic story.
The best part for me was the truth puzzles.
Really sucked me in and created yet another subplot - something whic...
So then why are you getting brotherhood then?
If you get III without playing the others, then good luck following the story :)
It's like watching Matrix III before II
So you're saying that if they released an AC game every TWO years for the next twenty years that would be fine?
Then you'd buy it?
What difference does it make then?
If the games maintain the quality, then bring one out every semester
@rudeSole Devil
I agree, looks better on Xbox. I would get it on Xbox (coz I'm superficial like that) but I'd rather have the added benefit of ripping of heads with the Blades of Athena :) Coz i'm superficial like that
I agree, was a brilliant article...
Um...Winter Voices?
As long as the 'canvas' is Roger Ebert's face :)
