The article soon became an anti-PS3 article.
He is saying PS3 has only great but short games. But Gears of Wars and Call of Duty also have a short story-mode. And Mirror Edge isn't even an PS3 exclusive.
Some points in the article are valid. Mirrors Edge could be very short. You always go forward and never stop to look back. The longetivity could increase if you could choose between multiple paths.
Stop hating on the PS3
..ray-tracing isn't the holy-grail. It's not good for everything.
I also remember Sony-IBM showingd a demo with ray-tracing done with the Cell. Also google for ray-tracing with multiple PS3's.
I also saw a video of Quake3 mod with object created with race-tracing.
I already have seen similar tech demo's. Eye of Judgement uses the same principles. I even saw some militairy stuff doing the same thing.
I think Sony is already experimenting with the same kind of gameplay mechanics. Sony has big internal development studios. I already saw some interesting stuff Sony did with the PSeye.
I don't think Microsoft is ambitious enough to experiment with the Live Vision.
... not everything was good between Phil and "the higher-ups".
Maybe Phil left because de decision was already made to cancle these two games (and other decisions). So Phil felt like leaving Sony.
Or like people are saying. These games didn't have Phil support anymore, so they were canceled.
And maybe now Team ICO will only make games for Japan. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
...when it comes to game reviews.
Example http://img.photobucket.com/... Edge just doesn't have respect for readers, when they put this in there magazine.
Their rating/scoring system is just very flawed. This I think this is the only explanation.
They gave 'God of War 2' a 7/10, but the Conan game they gave the same score. It is very obvious 'God of War ...
.. is the heavy depth-of-field blur Epic is using on the enviroment. You cannot see very far into the distance. All the sharp textures are in the forground. And Gears of Wars 2 doesn't show a lot of new stuff graphically.
What I do like about Gears of War 2 is how some objects brake/shatter (etc) accordingly. I don't know if Killzone 2 has also a real physics system for breaking objects.
Killzone 2 is still in pre-alpha. Some weird animations with falling dead soldiers....
...we still don't know if the other levels will look this great.
I want to see some more gameplay mechanics.
We also don't know if the collapsing building is realtime or an animation routine. And how much of the action is scripted. I would be really impressed if everything is realtime and not scripted.
Just don't get hyped to much.
The video looks great btw. The detail and effects is just stagering. Let's hope for a direct-feed high...
...this latest trailer is a downgrade.
The first trailer (tgs06) looked really sharp, with lots of details in Snake. You could see the sweat and dirt on Snakes face. You could even see the rough skin on Snake face and I don't mean the wrinkles. It looked so realistic. The first trailer didn't use heavy filters, so the colors really popped and every thing which wasn't blured (motion/depth-of-field) looked sharp.
The second trailer (E3 07) looked less sharp, becaus...
You only see a presentation about the engine.
The only funny thing is the animation of a dogs balls.
But the Hulk doesn't blend well with the enviroment.
That Marvel fighting game for the Xbox360 (with Hulk) looks better than this Hulk game.
This game looks like last-gen game with a next-gen Hulk model.
No thanx. I expect GT5 to support everything the G25 has. GT5 won't be a more complete sim, if it doesn't support these features.
At $149.99 it's not even aimed at the hardcore. G25 is a hardcore steering-wheel with all the bells and wishtles.
Again, it would be a shame if GT5 doesn't do the G25 any justice.
2 weeks ago I bought a Sony Bravia with a coupon for a free PS3. I already sent the coupon. And I live in the Netherlands (EU)
Quality isn't very good. It's upscaled. Not true 720p or 1080p. But still the best versions I have seen.
Download the 720p. The 1080p isn't worth it.
Trailer looks good. But I still wanna see some 'real' gameplay.
So where is a better version of the FF Versus XIII trailer?

Up-scaling on the PS3 explained a bit
...but I guess most of these Wii-games are "virual console" games. IMO those aren't real Wii games.
For me there are only 2 must-have games on the Wii: Corruption and Galaxy. Most games on the Wii are just filler and not worth buying.
... the list of top 5 innovative games, Wii games being innovative and Halo3 being innovative.
I agree with Little Big Planet. It's very difficult to classify a whole game as being innovative, because a lot of things have already been done. I think you could say some aspects of a game are innovative.
The eye of judgement in my eyes is innovative, but in Japan they already have this in the arcades for a long time.
ign never said Galaxy looks as good as a PS3 or X360 game. This is the direct quote:
"This is one Wii game that can proudly stand next to the best-looking Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 games." Which has a different meaning. Galaxy just gives the same WOW factor as games on the other consoles.
I still think Metroid Prime Corruption beats the *** out of Galaxy when comparing graphics. Metroid Prime Corruption is still the only game I want to play on the Wii.
How does this light-gun work with plasma or LCD HDtv's? With a sensor placed on the tv?
My light-gun only works with CRT tv's(50/60/100hz)

Raytracing with 3 PS3's. For a smooth moving image you would need more PS3's
