ati are going to do very well with these cards, they are not as powerful as the new nvidia cards, but costless than 1/2 the price.
and in these times of financial uncertainty most people don't have a spare £400 for gtx 280
i can buy a quad core cpu and 4870 and still spend less than the cost a gtx280.
most manufacturers use dynamic contrast now, which is a shame because it is almost like a legal lie.

the extra space is nice but mgs4 showed it is not fast enough.

if bluray is so great for games why does mgs4 run from the hard drive? it is clearly because blu ray is a little slow.

you will need a very powerful machine to get the level of performance xp will provide with a lower spec machine.
i have a c2d laptop with 2gb ram and vista ran very slow.
xp will run great with 512mb and a much slower cpu

i think it is better than mgs4, it just seems to flow a lot better.
mgs has too many loading screens and quite clearly runs from the hard drive. This says poor programming to me.
mgs is fun but i think uncharted was better and made by a more talented dev team, uncharted has better visuals and framerate too, disagree all you want it is just my opinion.
i prefer the 360 controller for shooters and racing games, i find that my fingers slip off the triggers of the ps3 controller (the 360 triggers are curved so this does not happen)

battlefield is best on pc, but i don't see why the console versions can't support more players.
the lst c&c was ok on 360, i thought the controls were ported over well
old films on bluray look crap.
i like bond but i won't be replacing my dvd's with bluray.
$199 = £130 approx.
130 x 2 = £260
amd quad core = £130
130 + 260 = £390, which leaves £30 left over from the cost of 1 gtx280 (£420 in uk)
my 1st pc was a 16mhz 286 with 1 meg ram and a 40meg hard drive.
more ram is always good especially now the prices are so low.
for those that don't know you need a 64 bit os to see more than 3.5 GB ram ( but you need to buy 4 gb to get 3.5 gb in a 32 bit os)
