Excellent Review! I never heard of this game before, but I will definitely check it out.
Microsoft's showing at E32 2011 was underwhelming at best and I hope they have more than just Halo 4 and a bunch of Kinect titles in their cannon. A surprise reveal of an unexpected game or even their next generation console would really shake things up.
Ah yes, he's with Ubisoft. My mistake. Late nigth posting sometimes causes the brain to get fogged up.
The Last of Us and God of War: Ascention are my two big hitters from Sony, and I am hoping to learn more about them at E3. And Microsoft, keep Mr. Caffeine far away from the hosting duties and you might catch me interest.
Anyway, great article!
Gamestop, like any company, is both capitalist and opportunist, which I don't fault them for. Hell, it's what we've come to expect from any company. But they seem to miss the point that Memorial Day is not about celebrating war, but remembering those who fought. Seizing this as an opportunity to sell more games is more than a little tasteless.
I have long since lost interest in the Tom Clancy games, however I have been hearing some good things about this one. I'll pick it up when the price drops a bit.
Not much for me this week...but Lollipop Chainsaw hits shelves in two weeks!
Kitaru definitely looks interesting, and it's amazing to think that the game has been this long in development. Hopefully they reach their goal.
Same. I appreciated Oblivion for what it was, but I couldn't get into it and struggled to make any progress. Skyrim, by contrast, is a game that hooked me from the beginning. I didn't expect it, but hey, the world is full of surprises :)
Excellent review! I am playing through it now and my thoughts are much the same.
This is great for people who switched (or are thinking of switching) platforms mid-series.
Definitely food for thought. Perhaps delaying games is becoming more of a strategic move than a need to take more time to develop them game. I guess we'll see if this hold true come E3.
Game of Thrones has the potential for a great video game, but this one looks looks, smells and plays like a rush job put out in order to cash in on the second series.
My first concern with any game is quality of gameplay and fun factor, with it's length being a secondary consideration. There are many games that fell within the 6 to 10 hour range that I thoroughly enjoyed, while some that were significantly longer that I struggled to stay interested in.
It can also go the other way, with some 5 hour games feeling rushed and incomplete, while a game like Skyrim kept me enthralled for over 100 hours. At the end of the day, it all boils d...
Last week was huge with Diablo III and Max Payne 3 being released simultaneously, and this week is pretty strong with Dragon's Dogma and Future Soldier. We gamers are going to be feeling a bit light in the pocketbook :)
Project Fedora is definitely one that I will be keeping an eye on. I became intrigued by the Tex Murphy games recently and it's good to see that they are looking to revive the series. I hope they hit their target.
Excellent idea for a series! There are so many games that get overlooked, so it's good to see them getting some love. I played Dead Nation when it was released and quite enjoyed it :)
Agreed. We all get burnt out on certain types of games and the best thing to do is take a break from it. We love gaming, but it should never be a chore that you despise doing. Just walk away and come back to it when you're feeling it again - the games will always be there.
As someone who doesn't own a gaming PC and is mainly a console gamer, I hope they do put the time and resources into making good console ports. The Witcher 2 proved that it can be done.
I am actually looking to acquire a proper headset for my PS3 (the cheap bluetooth one isn't meeting my needs), so this guild will prove invaluable. Thanks for posting this.
