Sony has been working on AR for quite a while now, it will be interesting to see the competition once they move forward with AR.
Personally I think vr will do better in gaming and ar will do better in enterprise etc, vr will be good for immersing yourself wholey in brand new worlds, imagine going through something like yarnahm in a full blown vr experience.

but I don't doubt that a crash has been in talks lately cause sony and activision have been in cahoots recently, destiny, and the new tony hawk game being announced and sony's CES conference, if black ops 3 has timed exclusivity on ps4, and possibly guitar hero. I doubt crash is less likely then any of though just cause activision owns it, its most unlikely to happen because gaming has changed.
The problem with screen mirror touch device games is you still have to look down at the screen to see where to tap since there is no tactile feedback telling you where your finger is!
as long as you have an iPhone you can get an Apple TV and do this for $70 or for $35 dollars with chrome cast and enables apps

1. a lot of these games or from small developers who are just starting, so the lump sum of cash from sony to get on ps+ has to be a huge plus
2. a lot of these games would go under the radar of most people.
