It isnt developed to the degree of psn or xbl, but every online game I've played on Wii U has run smoothly with no problems other than injustice but we all know how that went. Smash bros will be fine. Its not like its gonna be like brawl.

I'm getting the Wii U version for the gamepad features.
What reason does a casual have to pay hundreds of dollars to play wii sports in hd, which means nothing to them, when all their gaming needs are met by their phone or tablet. Casual gamers have absolutely no incentive to buy consoles anymore.

Nintendo games are designed to be played either by everyone (Mario, Smash bros) or older people (Zelda, F-zero). They simply lack content that could be considered harmful to children.
A kid was not meant to finish a Zelda game or every level of Mario 3d world.
