Every brand is entitled to 1 critically acclaimed failure. Sony had the handhelds that are dying off and some say PS3 was the least favorite of the Playstations. The Xbox has the Xbox One which is the least popular of its consoles. The Nintendo had a few too. But the next generation is a chance to be innovative and win over customers.
What about previous PS4 owners getting upset? You know like how you said Xbox owners would feel if MS released a better X1.
Quantum Break and Gears of War 4 will both sell consoles. Especially GOW 4. That series has a huge following.
I know by what games I've seen so far...mostly rail games. The 502.98 is the price of PSVR, camera, and taxes for me in my state. You enjoy your VR and rail games.
The author never had a xbox one. I'm suppose to believe he had one, sold it, and wrote an article about it?
Well now the X1 is $50 off. So they can just upgrade.
Nothing worth $502.98(camera & tax)
*stupid
Power is so important unless you plan on using the PSVR. Then it doesn't seem important. It's then all about the gameplay.
This article should be read for those looking at the pro and cons of PSVR.
You read it...games that play fine on Oculus and Vice don't perform as well on PSVR.
@travestyj now noone remembers the hype surrounding Playroom and 3DTV? Yeah right. The hype was full of caffeine. Why you think people mainly even bought their PS4 cameras for? People who are debating over the real PSVR price are saying "lots of PS4 owners already have a camera". Those few who did buy it, got it for Playroom. But you haven't heard about Playroom in 2 years so that let's you know it was unsuccessful.
@Unreal01 it only makes sense. MS is trying to expand Xbox/Windows gaming and they already have a partnership with Oculus. Money has never been an issue for MS. They can invest in whatever, whenever they want. They don't really have to invest in the VR headset so that saves resources. Just focus on games. Especially if VR seems profitable even as a quick gimmick for the moment. It could only help both Oculus and MS. I mean MS is already allowing crossplay with other platforms. So they'...
I feel eventually xbox games will work with the Oculus Rift thru Windows 10.
VR is not the future. It's the next gimmick just like the PS Move, Kinect, 3D TV, PSTV, or Playroom. It's like having a gun to play House of the Dead or Duck Hunt. It'll never be mainstream because of its limitations. So far I've seen rail type games but nothing that really blows my mind. Just like people acted like they were so impressed with the Playroom. I don't know one person who has one AND plays it regularly. Also this article has a good point that you hate to admit...
I think it'll do ok as long as the games are good. It'll definitely do better than the vita.
Yes I'm sure. They did several test on displaylag.com and all games with lower resolution and frames had less input lag. They had several more games tested than they do now on their list. But they updated it and have a shorter list. Also people with a keyboard and a mouse have an advantage over controller users. Even running a game on ultra on pc on let's say counterstrike makes it so you have grass in your view if you're on the ground but someone else on medium settings can see a...
How will they make this work if there's a differences in input lag between 3rd party games? Games with higher resolution and frames have more input lag because they have to process more. For example most people playing COD at 1080p would get destroyed by those playing it at 900p. Those few milliseconds matter in twitch shooters.
I thought everyone all of the sudden had a PC when Xbox One games were coming to Windows.
@Unreal They have companies working on getting the Rift to work on less powerful GPUs. That'll definitely make the Rift more universal.
