No it doesn't work that way. It replaces a lot of files in the game. So it shouldn't be much bigger than the base game. Not that it shouldn't have been released in such a broken state to begin with.

Yeah as someone who enjoyed Fallout 4. This simply felt like a multi-player add-on for Fallout 4 which comes with a $60 price tag. No thank you.
I enjoyed Fallout 4. Yeah its not as good as F3 or New Vegas but I had fun with it. To each his own.
