I'm amused you think this is a positive review of Onlive. It isn't. I think it will fail, but the potential is still invigorating.
If you want to see how well OnLive's "buy off" money is doing, listen to any of the GameCrashers podcasts. We trash it in every direction. I think my direct quote was "Anyone who spends money on OnLive deserves it". So... Thanks for the comment though.

I wonder how a Clayface would work in a game like this. I've always been a fan of that character.
It would work in theory, but then you'd have to deal with people complaining if it died again a few weeks later. If you wanted to go that route, I'd recommend getting liquid flux in addition to everything else. It improves the quality of the fix and will help the system last longer.

It's also clear you didn't read the article because I say specifically you should buy the APS-231 and consider buying a new fan if you haven't YLODed. Neither of those fixes help an already YLODed system. I hope you're not implying that weaker solder is preferable to a broken console... If it's already broken then weaker solder isn't your biggest problem.
Very true. Still though, even on an open shelf though, PS3s can YLOD.

There's still a bit of danger in doing this though, because it still puts games into a rating scale of 3 (buy), 2 (rent) or 1 (skip). Some games don't have the lasting appeal to play more than one playthrough, some don't have the appeal to even play all the way through.

I like the idea of trusting the user more than the reviewer. It completely negates the importance of the reviewer. Of course, the reviewer isn't important to begin with, just the information. Did you get the impression that you personally would like or dislike the game? If not, then the review was pointless.

Thanks for the compliment. From what I saw, the app just created an overlay for face mapping. It was the same zombie face overlay for everyone who looked at it, so I doubt it would be usable in game.
