You're confusing your enjoyment of a game with reality.
You can pick up a True DD / DTS sound system for under $1k (check into a Onkyo and Klipsch package deal). To be specific it's an Onkyo TX-SR607 and Klipsch 300 HD or 500 HD audio package.
Regardless of pricing it is a selling point and you trying to discredit it doesn't change the fact that uncompressed audio sounds better than compressed audio even on a "decent" standard DD receiver. Given the choice I will take better quality uncompressed audio every time.

One real easy place to do it is on Derail holding down the stairs in the warehouse on the middle of the map. Claymores, scavenger, too close, M1014 shotgun and grenade launcher on scar, tar or AK47.

There are far too many variables in racing games to point out what you did Doc to prove any point. What is the difficulty setting and other various settings being used (physics, assists, etc)? Go play GT5 demo and go off the road when it's set to expert racing and see how well "you" do.
I have kept my position in other racing games on this very track...

I will patiently wait while putting the finishing touches on my racing setup. I have plenty of games to keep me busy until then. I know I will personally get lost for months in GT5 when it's released. Racing games are my favorite genre and the GT series never disappoints (at least me anyway)....
