I honestly can't think of a site I trust. I could care less what any site "scores" a game. I read the review for their interpretation / description of what the game(s) have to offer. Other than getting information from sites I don't give any weight or credibility to the gaming media(s) opinion.

You seem happy about this. If I am being totally honest I am concerned about it. MS is showing the industry something alright (just like many other publishers and devs already have) but I'm not sure it's a good thing.
This generation is all about milking every last cent imaginable out of us gamers (add ons and DLC) and bumping this game up an additional $20 or so dollars at E3 ensured me that draining us dry is here to stay. The sales of ODST, which I knew were going to be insane...

too make the $299 250g elite standard. What I don't get from MS is why they don't discontinue the arcade unit and make the Pro their cheaper sku. That way all new adopters would get a hard drive standard and it would make the value for the elite greater since it's not a 60 to 120 but a 250g.

Yeah that seems a little off to me as well. I would think it would be black and blue with maybe silver or white for the fine lines/detail. All the advertising I see for ODST is black and blue. IMO this doesn't match.

I'm not going to get into how many failures I have had but I will tell this: I have purchased 5 new retail versions of the 360. Yes I fell for the X-revision of the motherboard won't fail. Obviously I fell for it more then once.

That is far and away the truest thing I have seen written about ODST and the reason I am renting it and refuse to buy it. Nickel and diming this generation is completely out of control and if we don't pick and choose are battles (IMHO) it is going to ruin the industry.

I refuse to pay full price for a game that should be $30 DLC.
For those of you that are picking up the game regardless of price TRU in NA is offering a $20 gift card and a ODST figurine with every purchase ($30+ value). I don't have a TRU in reasonable driving distance or I might have picked one up there.

Well then they are only catching up to where the rest of the gaming media already is, "in the sewer". There are a few decent sites out there (most of them newer sites) but they are the minority in the cesspool that is the gaming media.
