I think movies and games are different in this. A blockbuster movie may stay very high at the box office for a few weeks. But a high profile game especially one that's part of an established series such as FF will have people flocking to it before reviews are out. And it'll sell most of it's units very early. True though, that not all dlc is bad, but it's awful if you have to pay for dlc to enjoy the core game.
