The Stalker series isn't all that great visually,it's more know for it's environmental effects than anything and since when is Dead Space a visual benchmark?
You're right about Doom 4 though.
More GPU muscle would help. But RAM is clearly an issue in every game I've seen, everything from Meta Gear Solid 4 to Killzone 2 would benefit greatly if only the PS3 packed more RAM. Just look at the high res Snake running around in that low res world and you can tell where the devs blew their texture budget.
I'm not asking for true 1080p @ 60 FPS with 8X AA here. All I want is some visual consistency similar to PC games.
The only thing those games will crush is my iPad. My current comp will cruise through them. My issue with PC gaming right now isn't the hardware requirements, its that the so called "nextgen" games looks a lot like the last gen. I can barely tell the differences between Crysis and Crysis 2.
Hell if it weren't for the consoles limited RAM and inability to consistently display high res textures, my PS3 and Killzone 2 would top the visuals in most of those games.

I guess this cracked version of Silent Service 5 I'm playing is just a figment of my imagination. Seeing how I'm playing it offline they wouldn't be able to tell the difference either. But what else do you expect from a company that divined that the most moronic DRM in history of PC gaming.

This is a Final Fantasy review, WTF does that have anything to do with Linux or anything else in this massive wall of ranting text. It seems like this dude had all this random crap floating inside his brain then he suddenly decided to unload it all on this FF review. LOL!!
The problem is when they're not featuring girlie preteen boys, they're using the stereotypical hulking black guy. Thats the problem with JRPGs, they tend to swing from one absurd extreme to the next, and god forbid if you can play as your own character in these game. You're always shoe horned into saving the world with some spike haired emo kid.
As an arcade football game, it looks ok. As a football sim this game is crap. For starters there's a bunch of illegal tackles that will get you fined if not thrown out of the game in the NFL. Then there's the single body shape and horrible throwing motion.
Oh, and the generic uniform looks like a modern day Tecno Bowl.
There is a noticeable SVER map advantage in both sabo and domination. On one map the bunkers can provide a crossfire that is absolutely lethal unless you attack them from the very edge of the map. Even then the defenders will quickly identify this weakness and pour reenforcement into the flanks. When this happen the only thing you can do is sit back and watch your team lose the map.
The rocket's role in this game is a turret and vehicle buster. You're not supposed to be able to pwn people with them. Add more splash and it'll be overpowered.
1. You're only allowed one character per Playstation account. This idiotic since it'll lock on one side of the community, if you have friends or make friends with anyone on the other faction, you're screwed.
2. SVER imbalance. The SVER faction is completely rolling Valor and Raven be it through map advantage or having a large collection of experienced players. Either way it's not good a game when you're stuck in one faction and you're getting raped in every game without anything ...
It's about time we get Stalker on the PS3. I know these Eastern Euro devs are dirt poor and lack the budget to launch AAA console tittles but come'on. Give it a go at least.
Agreed 100%. Most of these guys make it sound like they're pulling a three some with Jessica Alba and Megan Fox twice a day. But in real life they couldn't get in bed with any of the women in those vids if their life depend on it.
I'm not that picky and those women are hot.
Crysis is an open world franchise. Killzone 2 and Uncharted 2 looks better on the console, yes. But they're corridor games. Would those two games look this good if they must represent the same square footage and effects in real time? Hell no.
The only games comparable to this is Assassin Creed 2 or Red Dead Redemption, but they don't offer the same amount of physics and destructible environments as Crysis 2. For the features they're boasting I gotta say Crysis 2 looks damn good....
