I think that is actually very clever strategy. PS5 is incoming with exclusive Horizon 2 and they want to show that Sony is producing the best games. Ever wondered why are they releasing this just now? It's a 3 year old game.
I find Origins to be much better than Oddysey. It was way more focused. Oddysey was all over the place and it got boring.

Not yet, but we should have one soon. We know what to aim for, though. Feature set between consoles is not that much different. If it runs on PS5, It'll run on SX too, probably with some additional leeway. Sony has some cool custom stuff going on inside though, and I know for a fact that our engine guys are excited, especially for audio part. But as a gamer, I think the biggest tangible differences are ssd for loadings and the controller. Sony went all out on these and everyone is in for ...
It matters a lot actually, to the holder and to you. If you have large base, you can negotiate things on different terms. Look how much more of exclusive content was on PS4 this gen and for which games. COD, RDR2, GTA etc. These are high caliber games. Low install base won't give you that leverage.
July showing is the last chance for them. They need to show something unexpected. Like what Sony did with hardware reveal. Everyone was saying it's too soon for them to show the console, but they did. Stream of articles about it was endless and everyone was talking about it. That's how you keep up the hype flame going.
So it's nothing like Origins and more like Oddysey. Knew it. Pass this time.
