First world problem.
Depends on whose idea was to make it as a gaas title. Smells like publisher's request.
I, for one, can't wait. I had a blast with the beta. I missed modern BF sooo much that I'm now willing to go through early growing pains of launch period. Again.
What? I think everyone is fine with it as long as there is exclusivity window.
Wow, that is a great month for me. PSVR is getting some banger titles and I always wanted to try Kingdoms of Amalur. Nice, Sony!
Still pass.
Played my digital copy at midnight. Very solid game, but I'm not really sure if I did the right thing by shelling out full price for it. I have a feeling it will rather quickly go down. Expect deals in December.
So please, enlighten us why there is 100% difference in size between PS4/ PS4 Pro and PS5 versions. If you believe it's just compression than you clearly don't know either and believe in fairy tales. What I said is exactly what I had experienced in our previous release. We had duplicate assets for PS4 and PS4 Pro. High quality textures for Pro, videos in 1080p vs. 4k for Pro, etc. It all adds up. I also said that I'm guessing here. What I do know though, is that there is no fracki...
BTW, the difference in size between PS5 and Series X/ S versions is exactly like the difference between the efficiency of kraken vs zlib, around 30%. To me this means there is a lot more going on with PS4 and PS4 Pro version than just different compression method.
@LucasRuinedChildhood
I don't think this is the case here. That's what you do when you have to stream a lot of stuff. The simplest explanation is, it is compression tech + only high-quality assets for PS5 version. Last-gen version has to support both, PS4 and PS4 Pro. I'm just guessing, though.
It can't be just the compression. Too big of a difference. Kraken is nice but it isn't magical. It has to be the difference in contents as well.
Wow, pretty sizable difference. Maybe it's different quality textures for PS4 vs. PS4 Pro?
@Father_Merrin
HDR kicks in maybe?
It leaked 2 months ago.
This attitude is what makes the headlines these days. I think this is planned behavior.
Months of disappointment is a bit of a stretch IMO. Almost every month had a game I wanted to try. I do have a PS5, though.
I don't want to say it, sorry.
Wow, you're assuming a lot. I didn't say I'm sad because of it. I knew I won't be in the credits because that was and probably still is company policy. I wasn't the only one who wasn't in the credits because of this. I would question the fairness of the policy itself, though. Especially after such a long time. Notice was given and we came apart just fine, without any bad blood. The stories I've heard after I left, though? They only re-assured me it was a good decis...
Well, I worked for a company which didn't put me in the credits because I left 2 months before release, after almost 3 years of work. Date was moved three times and I was sooo sick of it that I said 'I'm not doing this anymore' and quit.
I'm one of those. Game pass cost $1 for 3 months. Hard to pass.
