That's only because they know the DLC is bugged and want to move as many units as possible before everyone realizes it.
They will then spend months dodging the heat with the hopes that all the new gen talk will allow them to be forgotten about.
And since it seems they can win awards with flawed and unfinished games expect the same next gen.
@SAE
Then it pains me to tell you you most likely haven't played a complete game if you've bought or played ANY game made in the last 2 or 3 as most have DLC that's been obviously cut from the game, which you wouldn't know if you haven't played it.
Alot of DLC improves the experience as some games leave you feeling like it's good but missing something or unanswered questions.
And don't fool yourself, most people who ...
This gen is the by far the worse. Are we now complaining about OPTIONS!?
Where is it written that we all have to play the same game the same way?
Some of you need to get off your high horse and realize not everyone wants to play like you nor do we get the same enjoyment from the same games. Some of us actually have a life and play games to have fun, not as a way to feel better about our sorry lives. Most of us are not tracking down who beat what game what o...
@VVV
It sounds like you only play games to feel a sense of accomplishment or self-validation of some sort, which I find cheesy and totally out of place in videogames.
While my accessment of you is based on a quick observation of your post and completely irrevalent I feel compelled to inform you, but most of us play games to have fun.
You speak of real life while discussing a videgame. A VIDEOGAME. This is not real life.
it seems that you have no idea what you are talking about and just have a personal beef with gamestop, which is completely understandable as they are bad for everyone.
"The developers releasing practically unfinished games is somehow related to games being resold?"
Huh, yeah. Games are resold for a variety of reasons and consumers are quick to trade/resale a product they deem broken or incomplete.
"And Heavy Rain didn't lose sales at all...that is not what I'm saying. I'm saying that if the system of games being linked to a system or an account, Quantic Dream would have sold a substantial amount m...
Except you are buying a product with content locked away. All dlc is not bad, disc locked dlc is though, imo.
most dlc game modes and skins are often times just locked away on the disc you already paid for, and paying $15 for a 100kb unlock key is a ripoff.
You honestly don't know why? Maybe just maybe it isn't worth it to them. Look at dark souls, pc heads begged for the game and when they finally got it they completely blasted them for it" being horribly optimized for pc" as pc heads like to say.
Never mind they had little interest in the pc market and little to no experience with working on them. GTA4 got blasted as well I believe, why even bother when you know the whines are going to come.

Sorry author but I didn't read the whole article, however the guy is spot on.
A good deal of gamers are already forming ideas of ME4 being connected directly to shepard or the reapers. You can easily see it here on n4g.
ME is now a franchise, with or without shepard and EA/bioware will treat it as such. the new ME Might reference events from 1-3, but I doubt anything major.

"How many people, I wonder,realize that the reason digital games prices are the same as retail prices are due to contractual issues with retailers like GameStop (i.e. "we won't sell your games at all if you don't keep the digital price at full retail!"), rather than "greed"?"
I still fail to see how removing the used market would change the contractual issue between retail and digital pricing.
Why ...
Heavy rain didn't lose sales because of the used market, it lost slaes because it didn't appeal to a wider audience.
It's not about having to work a couple of extra hours to afford a game. I'm sure everyone here has the ability to support their hobby.
It's about devs/pubs constantly releasing crudy unfinished games and leaving consumers stuck with a $60 cup coaster.
@GG
Condesending or not, your statement is full of truth and you nailed it buddy! Randy is spot on as well with his observation.
Another method is to take out the archers and fall down on him using R1/RB, over and over. Simply fall on him and sprint towards the other tower until he comes your way.
Dodge him and run back to the other tower, climb to the top and rinse and repeat. Even a the lowest SL can defeat him this way without ever taking damage, just depends on your timing.
Word of caution, if you take to long to fall on him he will jump up there after you!

It's simple really, some gamers like to be told how they should enjoy their gaming experience and others like to do as they please.
Most open world games allow unlimited freedom while linear games offer a straight focused story.
"The majority (not all mind you) of open world games side-quests or exploration just result in killing X number of the game's standard mooks, or driving from point A to point B in under X seconds"

My apologies, it's dawned on me, you're right on the money. I've been fooling myself and playing this game all wrong and didn't even know.
Thanks for setting me straight on how I should be playing and what I should be getting out of the souls series!
Cheers!
"This clearly proves you have no idea what you're talking about with the Souls series"
I think playing the game for more than 300 hrs gives me some insight into the series.
"*Making the game easier wouldn't be detrimental*
Wrong. Making the game easy, thus removing the threat, would be a HUGE detriment to the experience"
I see. The only way to enjoy this game is how you see fit. Got it. Still don...
Really hope this game bombs, only to shake EA up a bit. Sad part is they would just close the studio and move on to another victim, unfazed.
I couldn't disagree more about the souls series.
There are two things that make DS hard, overpowered enemies and not knowing the attack pattern of the enemies. ( 3rd would be most fights taking place in tight narrow corridors/ledges where your weapon damage is slowed by walls and your enemies are not).
If they can make the game harder by increasing the damage and health every NG+ than they can make it easier by doing the opposite without being a detrimen...
I'm actual quite split on this issue. On the one hand, while I don't need help leveling up or completing a game, the older I have gotten the less time I want to devote to grinding in my video games. It's just not fun anymore, for me, a big waste of time.
I just don't find it entertaining having to play a game for 20 hours before I can really start to enjoy the game. (By the time I leveled up my character in deus ex I had 2 or 3 chapters left to beast on everyt...
Except you could'nt use that powerful weapon until you had the stats to wield it, which you don't have in the beginning of the game.
