This is exactly why only online multiplayer games won't last very long. It's important to have a single player campaign (a good one, not a throw-away trash story) or some kind of offline multiplayer mode.
I think if it was simply delayed/pushed back to Spring 2017, it would had done much better. Let's face it, EA killed it by making it go against Call of Duty and Battlefield 1. Those two games got so much marketing and hype when TF2 just got buried in the ground.
If they pull this off right, this could be a massive success for Platinum Games. I'm hoping they can spread these new IPs across as many platforms as possible. I wish them the best of luck.

So if it's confirmed to be only 50-60% completed, this game will definitely release in 2019, maybe even early 2020. I don't mind the wait though, take as long as you need Naughty Dog.

I'm so happy to see this return to form. The last Valkyria Azure Revolution was crap. Put 2 hours into and got a refund.
Very happy to see that Resident Evil 7 is number 5 on the list so I'm glad that Japanese developers seem to enjoy RE7. Also very glad that Nier Automata in number 3. This year was fantastic for gamers, probably one of the best in a very long time.
Not sure what they were expecting. This is pretty much for every computer these days whether its smartphones, laptops or gaming consoles.

Is there even any point for Nintendo to do a paid service? The way their online infrastructure is right now for the Nintendo Switch is rather poor. Requiring you to use a phone app for voice chat, like who does that? I feel like for the features the Switch offers, it should remain free until they are on par with Sony and Microsoft.
Well this actually looks pretty damn good. And in case people weren't aware, this is actually being co-developed with Platinum Games, so that's a pretty huge plus right there.
Nier Automata isn't really open world though. It's just not super linear, but rather have open hub areas. And Dull? Please the setting is way more fresh than some of the other games this year, especially since it's made by Platinum Games.

I'm really curious as to what kind of jRPG this will be. Will it be turned-based or open combat? Personally I think either will do, though I think I would probably prefer turned-base more. I'm really curious to see the aesthetics of this game. Who knows, this may be better than persona 5 for all we know, and this is also a brand new IP so I'm am keeping a very close eye on this one. Can't wait until we see more.
This looks to be coming along very nicely. One thing I do hope is that they make the transition instant instead of having a black screen for a split second. I don't know why but I find it a bit distracting.
