But I think PS3 did monthly updates or something similar but people complained hence why they're not doing it on PS4 (correct me if I'm wrong).
If anyone is wondering what their reason is it's to show how vulnerable these services are to these kind of attacks. The fact you pay them all this money each year and they are still susceptible to simple DDOS attacks by average hackers. Hence why they're attacking them; to force them to improve security.
