THE WATCH GLOWS IN DARK!
"Sequels are black holes of creativity: they should only be created if there is an entirely new experience to add, not because there’s more t-shirts to be sold. You see the way Mass Effect was designed differently – it was envisioned as a trilogy, so they had already planned for two sequels and built their games around a fluid story."
Too bad they slowly sold their souls after the first one for the sake of getting 250-300k more sales and dumbed the story down to uni...
I can also confirm that it's easy as long as there are more than 4-5 enemies around. Just use the Arbiter and Rebellion and you'll get SSS in no time. Arbiter's shockwave attack especially makes it easier. Also for bossfights, parrying is the key to getting SSS. As long as you get the timing right, which is somewhat easy, it's a walk in the park.
"when its obvious that this game is leagues better than DMC2"
That's not saying much.
This. I also love how impartial Eric is trying to be rather than just attacking either sides of the conflict. He calmly presents his opinion, backs it up with facts if there's any and also states that in the end, it's his taste.
His awesome reply to that horribly offensive article on VG246 that's aimed at people who complained about DmC (article has a slight spoiler for Jurassic Park 2 (the book), if you care about that sort of thing);

Look I am aware that it all comes down to preference when you are talking about something like videogames but I just wouldn't go out and say that DmC was the best game in the series. I just wouldn't. I mean people already hate it for a variety of reasons ranging from technical aspects to the cheaply written They Live/The Matrix knock off story. If the writer was judging the game as a seperate game that didn't belong to Devil May Cry series and then said it's an amazing game, o...
"Ninja Theory’s creative side Tameem Antoniades and Alex Garland were brought on by Capcom to reboot the Devil May Cry series and give fans something new to come away cheering – mission accomplished!"
Talk about being uninformed... Garland has nothing to do with NT. He's a freelance writer that helped with a couple of great movies and with the script of Enslaved and that's about it.
Also calling Tameem creative... Just don't.
"I’d have to go out on a limb and say that this is the best Devil May Cry game to date."
Right...
"Platinum and Kamiya have already stated that this DMC is fantastic."
Kamiya rarely badmouths other developers as long as they are not being dicks towards him.
"In fact, Ninja Theory took a lot of influence from Bayonetta for this one."
As demonstrated with the lack of manual lock on and many other fan favorite features...
Maybe you should think twice before acting like you know anything regarding to Devil Ma...
>there are people who are taking s**t like this seriously and actually responding to it or wondering why people would act this way...
Just snap out of it. It's just a bunch of idiots (who may belong to the either side of the conflict regarding DmC) trying to troll people. Nothing more, nothing less.
And please don't put everyone who hate the game into the same pot. Especially those psychopaths who sent death threats to the developers and other type...

Are you still banking on that term? Seriously? Oh and this is the "UK" charts. NT is a UK based studio and most of the early reviews were from UK based media outlets. You may be surprised though, considering you're most likely here to just rub insignificant stuff like this onto people's faces and have no idea what you're talking about.
It seems another great week is ahead for people with low self esteem.
Not to mention his insist on using the "already moot for more than a year" hair argument. Lovely how these pals call themselves journalists...
"LOL no he didnt. Right off he started with the emo thingy and exaggerated it. WHenevr he got a chance to critique he went and exaggerated it again and again of course to make it fun and is easy to stereotype than redefine."
Ever heard of this thing called "sarcasm"?
I heard it's all the rage nowadays...
He really did use that word didn't he?
-thirty plus reviews give the game 8+ scores
lol haterz eat it, in ur face
-four, five reviews give the game a 6
lol this idiot gave it a 6 WHO CARES?!
"That statement alone attacks people that like the game so in other words your a hypocrite for even telling me I suppsoly go against your opinion which I don't. Because u have no opinion until you play it. But if you still hate it after u play DmC. I wouldn't care at all. " <...
"So what do you think. Even disregarding DmC's reviews at all, do you think that the review system in place works? Or is it really just filled with a lot of ignorant people, padding numbers so they get recognized and obtain lots of traffic?"
It's the latter for the most part really. I'm fairly sure that most of those scores are given thanks to Capcom's deep pockets or threats made to smaller media outlets that need free game handouts from companies t...

Same thing also happened back in 2001 with GTA III and Metal Gear Solid 2 and back in 2004 with GTA: San Andreas and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater.
And all of those years turned out to be amazing for the gaming as a whole.
So the pro side is free to lump everyone with a legit concern in with the other aggressive and stupid crowd and can get away with it?

Good to know.
Edit: "Constructive criticism has been eclipsed by the noise of the mob."
And whose fault was it? It's certainly not only one side's, I can tell you that much... as demonstrated by the regularly popping "you hate it because they changed his hair" comments.
