I see this a lot on internet.The reason is that Nintendo have the "Kid's toy" image thanks to Wii audience and xbox have the "Dudebro image" thanks to microsoft's focus on multiplayer shooters and sports with 360.
So the hardcore gamers(or self called harcore gamers?) went to PS3 specially because the single player exclusive games that PS3 have(Uncharted,TLOU,GOW3,Heavy rain,Ni no ku...
What image? Xbox don't have any image in japan.It doesn't exist over there.

Sorry but Single player == Hardcore gamers
Multiplayer == Dudebros,annoying kids and casuals.
This is the common sense in every video game site on internet.
Sega don't know what to do with the franchise.
They released the first game as a Dreamcast's exclusive(which make sense) but the console failed.Then,they released the second game as a OG XBOX exclusive(which don't make any sense) and that console failed.
Now the right move would be release an HD collection for PS4 exclusive.
Why?
- Wii U is not selling very well(third party software sells poorer).
If this game is a PS4 exclusive the butthurt will be massive...

Note: Capcom and Square enix from 90's were the two best in my opinion but they fucked things up after that.
The ironic thing is that the PS4's camera seems to be very popular these days with the Twitch integration and stuff....and Sony did not need to force a bundle on us.
The difference is that Wii sold as a FAD for 3 years.After the Fad over,the sales went down and Nintendo abandoned the machine with only 5 years in the market.
Sony on the other hand,support their consoles for 10+ years(look at PS3,PS2,PS1).The PS4 can reach the PS2 levels for sure.
When sony announced 4.2 million by december 31 Vgchartz was 3.9 million(very close)and the january PS4 NPD numbers were very close to vgchartz too.So if VGchartz says that PS4 sold 5.2 millions it's possible that PS4 sold something between 5~5.4 millions.
Vgchartz seems to be very close to PS4 numbers(NPD at least).On the other hand,Xone was way overtracked.
So it's very possible that PS4 crossed the 5 million milestone.

Well that thing runs at 900p/18fps so it's easy to make pretty.
Their games probably will be 1080p 30fps(super locked) on PS4 because uncharted series and TLOU were 720p 30fps on PS3.
They will choose locked 30fps in order to archieve huge visuals.
