Nintendo isn't competing with just Sony and MS ,but they will be competing with Tablets and Mobiles as well. It's not that different than before just now its one system vs all.

The console has no pre orders up and probably won't until 2017. Nintendo would gain nothing from lying to people at this point. IMO NBA and Skyrim remasterd are about as confirmed as Mario kart and splatoon remasterd.

@ed I think resolution and maybe frame rate will be the only difference at most. Just need to wait for DF to get their hands a Dev kit.
True, odds are the dock doesn't have anything special other some kind of cooling system and power supply.
Maybe the Handheld has extra cores that only activate when docked.

IMO i cant tell th difference between 720 and 1080p on the gamepad. However the switch screen is a little bigger than the gamepad, but maybe still not enough to tell. Everything is still rumours though, rumours from the dev kits at that.
Yet they let zelda have"framedrops" in the trailer. I thught so too but after rewatching a few times I'm almost 100% sure that the slow down was the in game effect when you jump off somthing to shoot your bow. Add in that Going from glider animation to witch time animation probably isn't as smooth as the actual jump off the horses back and aim your arrow in witch time.
True they need to show some fat guy playing games alone in his room with Cheeto stains on his controller. I as a true gamer, can't relate to having friends, being on an airplane, or taking my dog to a dog park .
I can assure you they like other games and play them when they can. however if you want to be the best in the world at something you need to commit to it.
If you play any games you are a gamer by definition. Time to realize that you aren't special because you play video games. Play games because you want to, not because you need an identity.

Being half handheld means the Switch will probably be the home for most Japanese games though so that's nice.

It doesn't look like the detachable controller is comfortable to hold. Won't know until i try it though.
If the frame drops in Zelda during the handheld part are anything to go by then it looks like the dock does add some power.

The rumour that leaked the trailer tomorrow also leaked that 3 devs are waiting on the name reveal.
So what is "and providing power to the system" supposed to mean? No one is saying the dock is going to SLI. But having a PSU should help performance.
Watch DF analysis on the system. They mention the vent on the system is most likely only going to be used when it's docked.
