This time I didn't say remove the gamepad just make it slimmer or even smaller(keep the 6.2 inch screen). This day and age with the size and power in cell phones today and Nintendo can trim some fat off the controller too save money(look at the ipad mini it's small, powerful, and looks great).
Also if Nintendo did make a product a console like that it would downsize the company(less money made and less workers needed too make the product). Right now it's not what they need but in the future it's a good idea.
Wow the hardware needed too no wait your just asking for a tablet and anyway sony did that before with the psp(it didn't catch on because u can't do it with the Vita and it would have been cool).
Really isn't this the second year of the Wii U and if Nintendo doesn't get the sales it wants then in 2 years from this November we might have a new console(MS done it and look how it worked out for the 360).
Actually redesign the gamepad to save money & put the price down on the console(the gamepad is a bit too big and yes I own a basic white Wii U).
Nintendo must reinvent what exactly? The wheel? Everyone just take a few deep breaths give Nintendo a year from now to start giving Nintendo advice as too what too do. It's not the first time it's happened Iwata has acknowledged that there's a problem. So lets sit back and relax and enjoy the games that are going too be coming out too save the Wii U.
Well the Ps4 is $100 cheaper & maybe like myself don't like Kinect bundle with the XB1. There's no need for MS too force us too use it(it's a nice add on but don't bundle it with the XB1 MS that's one of the reasons your lagging behind in sales). Honestly $499 for a console is asking too much in this day & age especially when your number 1 competition is selling there's $100 cheaper.
Another problem is 360 & ps3 are selling strong. Also parents are buying the 3DS instead of the Wii U and I wonder why the reason is because Nintendo catered the right games which kids want ex pokemon. Iwata only mistake really is the game choice's from Nintendo 1st party's up till now. Nintendo will not just stop manufacturing Wii U's and release a new console there is no need it would be a waste of money. Nintendo just release a pokemon game for Christmas. Which the 3DS conn...
"Mario 3D world did good but not to what it can" the reason is it was the wrong game to release at that time they should have sold Mario kart or even smash bros. All I am saying is so far there's no game released that has attracted the majority of gamers to buy this console(or even consider looking at the wii u).
Nintendo will do just fine & the Wii U is not a flop yet they still have the 3DS selling very well. But I wonder what's going to happen when XB1 & PS4 honeymoon is over? Not everyone with the way the economy is are willing too spend $399 or even $499. Nintendo has a opportunely too market it's console for example you can buy Call of duty just like you can buy it for XB1 & PS4 but the Wii U it's like $100 cheaper. We (or even I) don't know what's going too happe...
Nintendo has hard choices to make in the coming months but leaving the hardware business just isn't in Iwata's cards. Time will tell what he has up his sleeves.
Just a bump in the road(well with a lot of potholes so lets hope in a year from now Nintendo has less bumps & no potholes).
Totally agree with this because a lot of moms have no idea what a Wii U is(changing the name too Nintendo U is perfect).
I agree that Iwata did manage too make the Wii the most profitable and successful console of its generation. But did the DS have too drop it's price like the 3DS had too do no(yes the price dropped but not out of poor sales). I don't want Iwata too step down but he knew the sales of the Wii U were poor for quite sometime so when 2 brand new consoles go on sale in November he should have started too change the strategy of Nintendo. You would think they would make a DS style pokemon gam...
If there's a future for the Wii U after this year then Iwata needs too show 5.4 million current Wii U owners why we should still support the Wii U(show future owners what the Wii U really is). What I think will happen is a short life of 4 years if we are lucky for the Wii U. Also I mean no disrespect to anyone who likes the gamepad for the Wii U but it looks like maybe the majority of gamers don't find it appealing if they did then it should be selling better. I've said it a few t...
I think Iwata is a successful leader when it comes too handhelds but it's not like he didn't notice the poor sales of the Wii u since it launched. Come on the situation for the Wii U is different from the 3DS. 3DS yes had a price drop like the Wii U but the 3DS has amazing third party support( just like every Nintendo handheld has had). But the Wii U has very little support which is sad because it has so much potential. The decisions Iwata has made so far has made the majority of game...
All that matters too me is the Wii U is a HD console(the first HD console from Nintendo).
Would a Third Party Nintendo be Good for The Industry? NO and imagine only Sony & MS competing equals no innovation. Someone said "Nintendo should stop making their crappy hardware and focus on software." Who's consoles have the lowest failure rate.
"Mario on smartphones" won't help Nintendo's current hardware sales problem.
Look if this year the console doesn't sell amazing with Mario kart & smash bros then it's a great chance it's a repeat of the gamecube in terms of console sales). Hay this is the first console from Nintendo with a real online service oh and it's free to play online. Also it would make sense too have a 4 year cycle now. Because of the problems with game developers(almost all saying weak console) and too have better hardware specs then the ps4 & xb1 for a more then 1 ye...
