There is no damage to the xbox brand. It's mostly only fanboys who were never gonna buy it anyway. Lets wait and see what MS says first.

There were problems but Live itself wasn't down. You could still connect but not using your own gamertag. Anyway the problem was fixed quickly. Something that other company couldn't do. Live is still a solid service. You guys can keep hoping that live will have a big outage like PSN but it probably not gonna happen...
Xbox live was never down. It was a problem with user accounts. Stay classy N4G. Laughing stock of the gaming community.

God of War Ascension sales were disappointing. Gear of War judgement too but they broke 1 million.
MS is very alive. They stumble here and there but they have huge sums of money to fall back on. It's sony that has one foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel. They didn't change CEOs because they are doing well. If things don't improve for them in the next few years you will see them slowly turn to a only software in the gaming market which may not be a bad idea since no one profits off of hardware anyway.
It's smart of them to keep an eye on Google. Look at what happened to sony when they ignored Samsung and Apple. Samsung has passed sony in the TV market and Apple killed them in the portable music player market. Now MS has stolen considerable marketshare from them in the US.

Don't listen to these fanboys. The service itself was never down. It's a problem with user / gamer tags . You could connect to live but not while signed in under your gamer tag. Mine is back up now. They are just a little mad that psn was down all around the world and made national news all because of their crappy security. XML is still a more solid service....... Now, back to my Battlefield 3 and cross chat.
Lol at n4g.... Staying classy as usual. XbL wasn't hacked. There were just sign in problems but mine is working now. It was down for a bit but nothing on the level of psn. Live is still the most reliable service. Pricey but better overall.
