The only reason why I havnt bought this game yet is because Im still stuck on killzone, which Im guessing a lot of people are in the same position. This is the best game that microsoft has come out with since COD world at war. If I owned an xbox instead, Id buy it also

He does have a point though. These gaming websites get these games like a month in advance. You would think they would use the whole month to really play the game before they critique it but a lot of sites are half assing their job (Playing video games all day must be hard).
good read, he makes very good points especially about gta4 and gears 2. Id be pissed if reviewers hyped up a game that has serious multiplayer issues and didnt mention it in their review. You know if killzone 2 encountered the same problems they would shyt on it just like they did with counter-strike

to be completely fair, I noticed this game at gametrailers and its in the ps3 section so thats how I came across it since i only own a ps3... this game does look pretty bad ass and the graphics are impressive, but there was no in game, it was all cutscenes so it doesnt really mean much or dignify the claim that it is going to be one of the best FPS of 2009.

this is why ign is great. They do everything professionally and actually take the time to play the levels a few times before they comment on it. The commentation was great. They talked about lighting effects, the differenct AI, different ways the levels are setup, improvements made since the last beta, they even explain the story in a different way then I expected it from watching other videos. the only game i own out of these is gta 4 and i havnt played it in awhile but i dont remember the game looking like a blurry mess on the ps3 as its portrayed in these comparisons. also i hate gamespot and theyve always shyyttted on the ps3 so im taking these comparisons with a grain of salt... its stupid anyway to bash the ps3 when you look at their exclusives, obviously some developers take pride in their work and others dont
yes the ps3 can play dvds. I have the original 60gig with backwards compatibility and it played old ps2 games which were dvd. The ps3 also upscales dvd movies
i could be wrong, but I would imagine that with a new format such as HD-dvd or something else, it will take developers a long time to figure out how to code for it like it did for the ps3. I dont think the developers will be too happy having to learn again how to use a new format once again. I guess they would have to deal with it but theres no reason for it when microsoft can just accept bluray and off the bat their games will not have any technical difficulties.
